The 2021 Nissan Qashqai brings fresh upgrades to one of Europe’s most popular compact SUVs, offering improvements in style, technology, and practicality. With its family-friendly design, efficient powertrains, and upgraded tech features, the 2021 Qashqai aims to stand out in the competitive crossover market.

The 2021 Qashqai has been given a modernized and more refined look, with sharper lines and a bolder, more aggressive front fascia. The prominent V-Motion grille and sleek LED headlights make it instantly recognizable, while the wider stance and larger alloy wheels add a more muscular appearance. Overall, it has a more premium feel compared to its predecessors, bringing it closer to the styling of more expensive SUVs.

Inside, Nissan has upped the ante with higher-quality materials and a more sophisticated design. Soft-touch materials on the dashboard, doors, and seats elevate the cabin’s feel, while the layout is clean and intuitive.

The Qashqai is spacious enough for five passengers, with improved headroom and legroom compared to previous models. The seats are comfortable and supportive, especially in models equipped with Nissan’s “Zero Gravity” seats, which provide excellent lumbar support. The cargo area is generous, with 504 liters of space available, and the flexible cargo board system makes it easy to store and organize items, adding to its family-friendly appeal.

The 2021 Qashqai is offered with a 1.3-liter mild-hybrid engine, available in two power outputs 138 hp, paired with either a six-speed manual. The mild-hybrid system improves efficiency by capturing energy during braking and coasting, which helps reduce fuel consumption. While not a powerhouse, the Qashqai performs smoothly and comfortably on both city streets and highways.

Handling is improved thanks to a more rigid platform and a revised suspension setup, making it more agile and stable around corners. It’s tuned for comfort, meaning you won’t feel every bump in the road, but it still provides enough feedback to keep the drive engaging.

Thanks to the mild-hybrid system, the Qashqai is quite economical for a vehicle in its class. The 1.3-liter engine achieves around 45-50 mpg on average, which is competitive for a compact SUV. It’s well-suited for drivers who want a balance of power and efficiency without going full hybrid or electric.
