Stepping inside, the Transporter Highline Kombi impresses with its high-quality build and functional layout.
The Kombi layout offers flexibility, with a second row of seats that can accommodate passengers comfortably while still leaving ample cargo space at the rear. Ride quality is impressive for a van, with good insulation reducing road and wind noise.
Powered by a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, producing 150 BHP and 340Nm of torque, the Transporter provides a good balance of power and efficiency. Paired with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the driving experience is smooth and refined, making it ideal for long-distance cruising as well as urban driving.
The handling is impressive for a van, with precise steering and a well-tuned suspension that absorbs bumps effectively. Volkswagen claims a combined fuel economy of around 36-40 mpg, which is quite efficient for a van of this size. The AdBlue system helps reduce emissions, making it compliant with Euro 6 regulations, which is crucial for avoiding low-emission zone charges in cities
